Byrd High School
Facility Square Footage: ~90,000 sq.ft. | Location: Shreveport, LA
- One of the most important aspects of this project involved the phasing plan put in place to allow the project to occur in a manner that would not interfere with the normal operation of the school. We worked with the owner, architect, and contractor(s) to coordinate multiple project phases over multiple summers/school years in order to prevent any disruptions to the learning environment
- 100% outside air units with energy recovery, natural gas-fired heat, and variable air volume (VAV) air terminal boxes deliver code required outside air throughout the facility. Units include an enthalpy wheel, which transfers energy from the building’s exhaust air stream into the incoming supply air stream. This allows for a smaller capacity unit to be installed, resulting in reduced construction costs and increased energy efficiency
- Energy efficient LED lighting was installed and completely integrated into the building automation control system. All aspects of the lighting system is controlled by the automation control system from schedules, brightness, to different scenes in classrooms
